But I got another PFM record that is better-Chocolate Kings. This is not that memorable of a recording, as the style tends to leave a lot of dead space between passages. No doubt that Greg Lake appreciated these guys, and had them signed to ELP’s own Manticore label giving the international recognition they deserved (thanks to Photos of Ghosts, their Manticore debut). The sounds are more similar to early Genesis or Giant but it tends to be softer with more of a romantic melodic structure, not as edgy but increidbly beautiful. The band tended more to the pastoral-end of prog rock, highly acoustic, with mellow vocals. Review by Robert Taylor This is PFM 's brilliant follow-up to Storia di un Minuto, and both albums are considered progressive rock classics, for good reason. Mauro Pagani's airy flute is the perfect antidote to Francone Mussida's aggressive guitar, while Flavio Premoli's keyboard work rivals that of contemporaries such as Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman.

There's a problem loading this menu right now. I think the first four all-original PFM albums are quite possibly the finest prog ever produced outside the UK. The Quack who wrote, “The Quack Behind the MSG Scare”, Neil Young Video: “Resist the Powers that Be”, Disjointed: Kathy Bates Opens a Cannabis Dispensary, Surrealistic Summer Solstice, San Francisco 2017, Algarnas Tradgard: Framtiden Ar Ett Svavande Skepp. Per Un Amico, released near the end of 1972, was their second album and definately one of the highlights in the Italian prog scene. I've loved this album for nearly a half century now. This album is truly one of the great albums from the classic prog rock days of the 70's. The 5th track, in particular, is awesome with great keyboarding. It seems that most of the time, PFM gets swept under the rug as just another band trying to capitalize on the original success of Canterbury bands. it's very different to my Rainbow Rising review, Album Rating: 4.5indeed, i did the Storia di un Minuto one but didnt get round to doing this before i quit sputnik, Album Rating: 4.5yeah' I don't know why, I knew you were going to review this at some moment so I got scared, knowing that someone may do it first hahaha, Album Rating: 4.5review was maybe a bit long but posed anyway enjoyed reading. I've experimented a lot with these review though. The lyrics are in Italian and, while used sparingly, make a valuable contribution to the session's integrity. Although I think each of its songs are brilliant, my personal favorite is Geranio.
